Major Events of the Crusades
  • In 1204, Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine empire, was captured and looted. This act hurt the cause of Crusaders.

  • The Firts Crusade was the most successful of all the Crusades. It had five armies of knights and only one army of peasants. The crusade was led by Peter the Hermit.

  • The Children's Crusade was also very well-known. It was led by a French peasant boy named Stephens of Cloyes.
